URA Football Club has today (Monday) parted company with its Team Coach, Kefa Kisala.
-Kefa has served as URA FC Head coach since December 2015.
-URA FC won the Mapinduzi Cup 2016 title in Kefa’s term as head Coach.
-Kisala first served as Assistant coach to Basena and was promoted to head coach replacing Basema Moses on 15th December 2015.
-Kirya Ibrahim is lined to replace him.
Kisala, appointed URA FC Head Coach in December 2015, led URA to the Mapinduzi Cup trophy after 15days in office.
However, the league results in the current campaign have placed the URA FC League status under risk and the Board reluctantly feels that a change of leadership, while admittedly painful, is necessary in the Club’s greatest interest.
URA FC Chairman Kizza James said: “This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make last night to keep the interests of the club keep going forward, Kisala has brought discipline and a sense of working together in the team which the board appreciates”.
Team preparations for Tuesday’s Azam Uganda Premier League fixture against Lweza FC at Wankulukuku will resume today Monday, with Assistant Coach Odoch James taking charge of the squad until a new Head Coach is officially unveiled.
Former Assistant Coach Ibrahim Kirya has been lined to replace Kisala, The Board will make no further comment until that process is completed.
