Uganda Hippos made history as they stormed the 2023 African games tournament men’s football final with memorable 4-2 victory over Congo in the semi final on Tuesday evening in Accra, Ghana.

The Hippos needed to come from 2 goals down at halftime to win 4-2.

Our forward Bruno Bunyaga levelled matters in the 70th minute with a poacher’s finish inside the box thanks to Abasi Kyeyune assist inside the box who had also pulled one back in the 60th minute.

Three minutes later, Bunyaga went ahead to put Uganda in the lead with a brilliant inside the box off another Kyeyune assist to send the Ugandan crowd in Accra Sports Stadium into wild celebrations.

Substitute Hakim Mutebi also got onto the score sheet in the 81st minute to complete a comeback for Uganda.

Another Tax Collector John Innocent Kisolo came on towards the death of the game.

Uganda Hippos will face Ghana in the final on Friday at Accra Sports Stadium.
