URA FC’s six-year wait to participate on the continent will officially come to an end on Sunday, September 12th 2021 as the Tax Collectors lock horns with Ethiopian Coffee SC in the first preliminary round fixture of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The aforementioned date will be for the first leg hosted in Kampala at St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende. The game will kick off at 16:00 hours EAT.

The return leg of this particular fixture will take place in Ethiopia just a week after (Sunday 19, September 2021) the first and will be hosted at the Bahir Dar National Stadium at 15:00 hours.

In respect to the above-mentioned fixture, the Confederation of African Football Association (CAF) has released the list of officials that will be charged with the responsibility of officiating this two-legged affair.

For the home game, the Tanzanian combination of Elly Ally SASII, Salim Mkono Mohamed, Sief Mpanha Kassim and Martin Eliphas Saanya will assume the roles of Centre Referee, Assistant Referee 1, Assistant Referee 2 and Fourth Official respectively.

South Sudanese Sebit Librato Begi Rassas will be the match commissioner while Rwanda’s Michel Gasingwa and Uganda’s James Sekajugo will be Referee Assessor and Covid-19 Officer respectively.

Meanwhile, Ethiopian Bereket Bogale will assume the responsibility of the Covid-19 Officer for the return leg that will be hosted in his country while the position of the Referee Assessor has not been disclosed.

The Kenyans will monopolize the on-pitch events with Brooke Elijah Philip, Samuel Kuria, Stephen Yiembe and Peter Waweru Kamaku taking on the Centre Referee, Assistant Referee 1, Assistant Referee 2 and Fourth Official roles respectively.

Sudanese Amir Osman Mohamed Hamid will be tasked as the match commissioner.

The games are fast approaching and already, the preparation from the team seems to be underway as we quest to better our continental adventures from the 2015 edition of CAF Confederations Cup.
