KCCA FC vs URA FC — MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo @5pm

URA FC will return into action on Friday when they visit KCCA FC in the FUFA Super 8 semi final clash at the MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo as they aim at booking a place in the final.

The Tax Collectors returned to training on Wednesday following days off after the sudden death of head Coach Sam Timbe last Saturday which led to the reschedule of the initial fixture last Sunday.

Currently under first Assistant Coach Fred Muhumuza, the team is in good shape and want to win the match against KCCA FC and possibly the trophy for their fallen head coach.

URA FC will not be with new boy Sharif Kimbowa, Vianey Sekajugo, Nicholas Kabonge, Denis Kisiriko and youngsters Godfrey Sekibengo, Amis Bwangani, Kisiriko Denis and Justin Opiro who currently with the FEASSSA Games in Rwanda with Kitovu College School and St Mary’s Kitende SS respectively.

“It has been tough times for us following the death of a father figure in coach Sam Timbe but I thank God we returned to training and the spirit is good. We have made the players know that the coach Timbe needed this success and now they have to win to make him proud. We are playing a good side but if we are to win silverware we have to be set and ready to face anyone.”

He said.

“We are ready for KCCA FC and we hope for the best. I thank the management and technical team for preparing us mentally to focus on the game especially after a tragic moment of losing our head coach Sam Timbe. We want to play and win this for him because it’s what he wanted.”

To reach the semi final, URA FC beat Soltilo Bright Stars FC 2-1 at Mehta stadium Lugazi while KCCA FC beat Wakiso Giants FC 2-0 in Lugogo.

The last time both sides faced off saw URA FC win 2-0 in the league in Lugazi thanks to Eric Senjobe and Alfred Leku goals in the second half.

In the last 26 meetings, URA has won 12 times, drawn 7 and lost 7 times.
