It’s always every aspiring footballer’s dream to play football upto the top level but the journey is never easy and when the dream is comes true, most never take it for granted.

That’s exactly the same feeling youngster Godfrey Sekibengo experienced when he made his first ever Uganda Premier League debut with URA FC FC against Gaddafi FC on September 22nd 2023 at Mehta stadium Lugazi in match day two.

The promising intelligent attacking midfielder came on in the 79th minute for experienced Saidi Kyeyune to mark his dream debut and had some memorable moments.

To him, it was a big moment that he will forever frame in his heart.

“Making my debut for URA FC and in the UPL will forever be one of my biggest career moments”

He told the club website before adding.

“It was a dream come true for me and the fact that we were home, the fans showed me alot of love and support, my teammates kept pushing me on which boosted my confidence and put pressure off me. That time was precious and I want to continue working hard so that I can get more playing time.”

In that game, URA FC won 2-0 thanks to Moses Aliro and defender Najib Fesali strikes.

The S.4 student who has since returned to St Henry’s College Kitovu to prepare for his UCE examinations joined the Tax Collectors in the off season transfer window after an impressive USSSA football championship tournament with his school in Fort Portal guiding them to the final before losing 1-0 to eventual winners St Mary’s Kitende SS.
