URA FC  started off in 1997 from what used to be URA end of year inter-departmental sports competitions. The people instrumental in the organization of these competitions at the time under URA Sports Committee included among others 

Our fan base estimated at over 300,000 has steadily grown both locally and regionally, with 10,000 registered subscribed members. Being the most successful Ugandan club in the last 13 years, URA FC has been crowned National league champions for 4 times, Cup winners 3 times, 1time Mapinduzi Cup(East Africa) winners and represented the country 10 times at Confederation of African Federations (CAF) both in CAF Champions league and CAF Confederations Cup.

The club brand is our biggest asset. URA FC hosts its home matches from the country's main National Stadium ; Mandela National Stadium ,(Located on Namboole Hill Bweyogerere – Kiira Municipality) and Trains from URA FC Training complex in Gayaza, Wakiso District. 

The club is currently finalising construction dealings for the proposed 20,000 capacity URA FC Stadium in Bugema – Wakiso District.
