URA Football Club returned to Lugazi, Mehta Stadium as their home ground after a series of inspection by FUFA.

However, this wasn’t an easy process as alot of work was done behind the scenes by club CEO and former skipper Allan Munaaba under that leadership of Chairman Dr. Micah Gaalya.

Munaaba who enjoyed alot of success as club captain while at Lugazi hopes they can achieve the same now as CEO.

“We are happy to return to a ground where the club enjoyed a lot of its success. we hope to do the same that is rediscovering evening glory days from the favorite tax collection den.”

He said upon approval by FUFA.

Alot of ground work was done before returning including the CEO, Munaaba meeting with Mrs. Mehta and her sons.

In this case, URA FC was required to replant grass especially in the middle of the stadium that had an artificial turf for Cricket.

In order to rebuild the relationship between both parties, Munaaba attended the Mehta League on behalf of URA FC and met with more Mehta Directors and senior administration of SCOUL.

Following all this journey, URA FC organized a friendly match with Lugazi Municipal to mark their return, winning 2-0.

Munaaba further came up with a proposed modern plan of the improved Mehta VIP section that will see extra toilets and dressing rooms added as well as parking.

The Tax Collectors had last used Mehta Stadium as their home ground in the 2016/2017 season.

They have been hosting from Nakisunga grounds and also previously used Namboole and Arena of Visions Ndejje as their home grounds.

Busoga United will be the first team to visit URA on their return to Mehta on Sunday 19th March.
