Right back Justin Opiro and Uganda Hippos progressed to the quarter finals at the ongoing 2023 AFCON U20 tournament in Egypt.
This came following the barren stalemate against South Sudan on Sunday at Suez Canal Authority Stadium, Ismailia.
The roving and flying Opiro has been in all the Hippos group stage match day squads but is yet to feature but remains optimistic and eager to show up when chance arises.
He is one of the few and lucky players to play at two different AFCON tournaments with the first coming in 2019 in Tanzania while with the Uganda Cubs (U17).
Other URA FC ambassadors at the AFCON U20 tournament in Egypt with Uganda Hippos are goalkeeping coach Mubarak Kiberu and Media officer Ronald Lusulire.
The Hippos will play Nigeria this Thursday 2nd March 2023 in the Quarter finals at Suez Canal Authority Stadium.
