URA FC will host a second home StarTimesUPL game in succession following their impressive showing against KCCA FC two days ago. The opponent will this time be Jinja’s BUL FC on Matchday 18.

The encounter will be just the eighteenth topflight meeting between the two sides since 2012. The past 17 meetings between the two sides have seen URA FC win seven and draw eight with BUL winning just twice.

The two wins for the opposition came in 2016 and most memorably at the back end of 2018. It is fair to say however that the tax collectors have dominated this draw ravaged fixture.

Ojera Joackiam taking on BUL FC players in the first leg.

The previous season, URA FC played out a one-all-home draw against BUL at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje. Shafik Kagimu got us going as early as minute 10 and everything looked set for a URA FC win but to everyone’s surprise, the visitors equalized in added time condemning the tie to shared spoils.

With full knowledge of this outcome, the tax collectors traveled for the return leg with extra hunger which gladly paid off as the visitors ruthlessly dispatched the home team putting three past them.

Goals coming from Saidi Kyeyune and a brace from Cromwell Rwothomio as the hosts pulled one back. The game ended 3-1 in favor of the tax collectors.

Already this season, URA FC has put BUL to the sword in the first league encounter between the two sides. The tax collectors won the game 2-0 away from home with a brace from the league’s top scorer Steven Mukwala (goals coming in the 77th and 90th minute).

Mukwala Steven scored a brace against BUL in the first leg

The hosts will be searching for their first-ever league double against BUL FC. Will it be a feeling of deja vu as was the case against KCCA FC last Tuesday. To think of it, it will be a good feeling to reminisce such a moment.
With respect to the challenge ahead, the gaffer spoke to us after the training session:
“Am happy with the steady progress of our team, the boys have trained well, and am happy with the outlook of the team. The boys are ready for the challenge.”

He would continue to say: “The recovery time hasn’t been enough considering that we played on Tuesday. Let’s not forget that we are playing against dark horses in the league. We need to be at our ultimate best to win.”

Nyakoojo Benjamin is expected to feature today returning from injury. Sseruyidde will be out after picking up an injury against KCCAFC.

Bul Fc will be looking for their first win against URA FC Since 2018.
In the last five meetings between the two, URA FC has won twice with the rest being draws.

The fixture between the two sides has had more draws than either team has won.
