URA FC will lock horns with Ethiopian Coffee in the first leg of the CAF Confederations Cup Preliminary round fixture this Sunday, September 12th at the St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The team has been busy with preparations prior to the game, these also involved a friendly game against Express FC an exhibition match that ended goalless at the final whistle.

The Tax Collectors have also had training sessions at the host venue this particular week in a bid to familiarize with the surface and ultimately get ready for what promises to be a mouthwatering clash.

The visitors on the other hand touched down in the country on Saturday morning (September 11th) at 1:00 am EAT.

During the pre-match press conference, URA FC Team Manager, Sam Timbe, was quick to highlight the need for a right attitude from his team in order to deliver a desirable result.

“First, I am glad to be at URA and extremely excited about the competition on the continent. We have a good enough squad to stage a good performance in the campaign,” he stated.

“What makes our opponent hard to play against is that there isn’t enough information written or spoken about them. But Ethiopian clubs dominate formation and that’s how Coffee play. We shall prepare to counter that,” Timbe added.

When asked about the team news and about whether any players were to miss the game, he had this to say:

“The good news is that we have no injuries in the squad. Our only worry was with one of the goalkeepers but now that Hannington is back, we have all players available. Everyone is available for selection.”

The return leg will be played next week Sunday, 19 September 2021 and the team to progress from both rounds will face off against Egyptian El Massry in the second preliminary round fixture.

Team News.

All players are available for selection. There are no injury scares.
