URA travel to the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium this Tuesday, February 15th to lock horns with Wakiso Giants in what promises to be a fascinating Matchday 18 of the 2021/22 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

The Tax Collectors approach this tie on the back of an important home victory (2-1) against Gaddafi FC at the Arena of Visions, Ndejje University, where the home side left it late courtesy of a Brian Nkuubi late strike in the 93rd minute.

The URA gaffer, Sam Timbe was however unfazed with the fact that his side is yet to deliver a victory against their hosts since the latter earned a promotion to the topflight league. Timbe seemed rather unwavered in his belief in the winning mentality of the team.

“I am aware of our record against Wakiso Giants but I wouldn’t want to read much into that because our various training sessions have been positive and encouraging since the tie against KCCA,” he told URA Media.

“Our performance at Lugogo last week lacked more intent and character but I was happy to see that change against Gaddafi. We played well but still struggled with scoring goals. That’s why the winner came as a relief.”

He would reiterate the need for his side to be offensively astute coming into the tie and clinical in front of goal for chances are always created by the team.

“My desire is that we show a bit more ruthlessness in the game against Wakiso. They are often a hard time to break down, especially since Alex Gitta took over so I guess we have our work cut out for us,” he emphasized.

“The first leg was a draw and I feel we have done enough to earn all three points from this game. I am confident that we are ready as a team, and the boys will deliver the three points come Tuesday,” he summed.

The good news for Timbe and URA is that the Purple Sharks come into the game on the back of a convincing 2-0 loss away to BUL FC and are choking for confidence. This might just be something to capitalize on.

All players are available for the tie apart from Cromwel Rwothomio, Derrick Ndahiro, Galiwango Arafat and James Alitho who are all out with injury.
