URA FC 2-1 Wakiso Giants FC

Uganda revenue authority FC FC picked up their first victory at Mehta Sports Stadium, Lugazi last evening with a 2-1 victory over Wakiso Giants FC in the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

The result meant the Tax Collectors revenged off their first leg loss to the Purple Sharks by the same margin.

The first quarter of the match looked cagey and cautious despite numerous efforts by the home side to break the deadlock.

Three minutes past the hour mark, Saidi Kyeyune broke the deadlock from a rebound off Dada effort that was spilled by Kirya and that was the difference at halftime time.

At the start of second half, Kabon had a chance to double our lead but his curled effort went inches wide.

Kabon’s patience finally paid off in the 55th minute as he doubled our lead with a superb finish past Bashir Sekagya thanks to a Dada assist.

Four minutes later, the Purple Sharks pulled one goal back from the spot through Sharif Kimbowa after Mulikyi handled the ball in the box.

The Gaffer made a number of changes with Ssemujju, Andabati, Mbowa and debutant Bunyaga all coming on at different intervals for Sekajugo, Kabon, Dada, and Kyeyune.

The result was the 5th out of 6 second round games so far and it took us to 29 points from 20 games in fifth place.

Next in line will be a trip to Arua to take on Arua Hill SC on Easter Sunday at the Barifa stadium.
