Patrick Mbowa has this afternoon signed a two-year contract extension with the Tax Collectors that will see his stay at the club stretch till 2023.

This comes in the aftermath of his former contract expiring at the conclusion of the previous 2020/21 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

Mbowa, whose work in both the centre-half and anchorman roles was instrumental in URA FC’s incredible season that saw the Tax Collectors compete at the topmost level to many, deserved a reward from the club who will surely ask for more of the same.

His incredible work in both defence and midfield especially in the defensive set-up of the game had us boasting of the league’s second-best defensive record.

He spoke to URAFC TV shortly after signing his contract and this is what he had to say:

“Signing a contract extension with a club I love dearly and helped compete at the top level is heartwarming to me. I look forward to prioritizing the club as I have been during my stay here. Now I feel like we should fight harder next season and win silverware.”

He would further pledge his full commitment to work with the new technical team as he so dutifully did with the past regime.

No prizes for guessing what kind of role he will have for the team while on the continent because his incredible experience commands that the role-whichever it is, be phenomenal.

He has been a loyal servant for the club since making his debut and as a club are looking forward to more of him. We would like to wish him all the best in the forthcoming season.
