URA FC seeks to keep their title hopes alive when they travel away to Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe to play against BUL FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Monday.
Points were shared squarely the last time the two sides met in the league last year in November. Musa Esenu and Joseph Ssemujju for BUL, Steven Mukwala and Shafik Kagimu each scored a goal in the two-all draw at the Arena of Visions.
URA now travel to Bugembe with clear intentions of getting maximum points from BUL to keep sight of table leader’s Vipers SC.
The Tax Collectors, who have played two more games than Vipers are currently in the second position with 43 points, just six below the Venoms.
URA need to react quickly to pile the pressure on Vipers, coming into Monday’s game following a rather unpleasing result at home last week on Tuesday, a barren draw against Arua Hills.
Meanwhile, the Tax Collectors have not lost any of their last five games, collecting at least nine of the total 15 points, having won two of those and drawn the other three.
Besides chasing the title, URA can also go eight points ahead of fourth-placed BUL if they beat the Jinja based side on Monday. It would be an instrumental factor in helping the Tax Collectors finish within the top four teams of the total 16.
The Taxmen, who have won at least a game and lost none in their last three are thought to be favourites over a BUL side that hasn’t won any of their last three games.
The Monday result can prove otherwise, but the current table standings suggest URA is a better side of the two. The Tax Collectors are seated second with 43 points after 23 games so far in the season, having done so with eleven wins, ten draws and only two losses.
Meanwhile, URA’s Monday opponents have managed ten wins, eight draws and five losses to be fourth with 38 points.
For four seasons now, URA, since the 2017/18 season has not lost a game against BUL.
At the moment, the Jinja based side is also still in title contention and that’s what makes this particular fixture promising to be entertaining.
