URA FC endured another setback in their search for silverware this season as they lost 2-0 to BUL FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League away in Jinja on Monday.

The loss, URA’s third this season after 24 games still doesn’t displace them from the second position on the 16-team table as they have 43 points, six below Vipers.

However, a win for the Tax Collectors would’ve seen them close in on table leaders Vipers but the visitors left all the points at the Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe.

At the Kyabazinga Stadium, former taxman Richard Wandyaka scored once in either half to secure BUL’s victory.

URA had as many chances to score in the first half as Cromwell Rwothomio and Benjamin Nyakoojo both came too close, but were both denied by BUL goalkeeper Emmanuel Kalyowa.

It is however Wandyaka who opened the scoring to BUL’s advantage after just half an hour played, redirecting Hillary Onek’s cross past Allionzi Nafian.

Ten minutes after the restart of the second half, Wandyaka stroke again to complete his brace and double the home side’s advantage.

The Tax Collectors had the better of the ball in the last half hour of the 90 minutes but only couldn’t make the possession count through conversion to goals that would bring the three points.

Nevertheless, URA is still in the title race, despite having played three more games than the Venoms who are leading the table with 49 points.
