URA FC head Sam Simbwa has today Thursday, 15 April 2021 been named the Pilsner coach of the month of March. This follows another accolade earlier this month of the MTN Fan’s coach of the same month along with topscorer Steven Mukwala as a player of the month.

The accolades follow the club’s impressive run of form in the just-concluded month of March that hardly saw us drop a point and better yet lose a game of football. His tactical genius directly coincides with this run.

The tax collectors had one of the most impressive performances of any team in the just last month. The club played five games and won all five of them.

In the above-mentioned five games, we managed to score a whopping ten goals, conceding just once. Steven Mukwala scored five of the ten goals the team scored and assisted just once to position himself in the topscorer conversation.

This impressive run that has seen the individual accolades fly in started with a game away at the Bombo Military grounds against UPDF FC. We won the game 1-0 thanks to a Steven Mukwala goal.

Next up was a home game against Kyetume FC and courtesy of goals from Cromwel Rwothomio and Kagimu Shafik, the tax collectors gained a convincing 2-0 win before following it up with an identical scoreline against Police FC.
Skipper Shafik Kagimu and Cromwel Rwothomio would get the goals against the law enforcers. The catalyst in this run however has to be against the defending champions SC Vipers.

Thanks to goals from Shafik Kagimu and Mukwala Steven, URA FC cruised to a 2-1 home win against the venoms in the bright light at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje.

The climax to this impressive run was our away trip to West Nile region in Arua district to take on Onduparaka. The AbaBet Greenlight Stadium has for long been a hard place to go for opposing teams and not just URA FC.

This fact however wasn’t to deter the quest for blood in the team and get it they did thanks to a brace from the top scorer and a goal from Cromwel making it three on the evening for URA FC.

Cromwel Rwothomio also hard an impressive run in with 3 goals out of five games only bettered by Mukwala’s 5. That indeed concluded an impressive month for us.

Ssimbwa giving his acceptance speech

While accepting this award this morning, Sam Simbwa attributed this milestone to his team that has done everything the right way and the burning desire for success.

“We have a group of lads at the club that are determined to do all within their power to succeed. That often makes my job as a coach easy. Such players need extra motivation to deliver. This award is for them as much as it is for me.” Said the gaffer.

The club congratulates the manager for this incredible milestone reached. We hope to see more.
