Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) is delighted to announce the signing of defender Sharif Lubega from Express FC on a two-year contract.
The Mango Kadiba-born defender becomes the latest addition to the Tax Collectors squad as Head Coach Jimmy Kintu Mwera continues to strengthen his team ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League campaign.
Lubega has been handed jersey number 16 and is expected to bring greater depth, competition and solidity to the URA FC defensive department.
A New Chapter for Lubega
The move marks an exciting new chapter in the career of the versatile defender, who arrives at URA FC with valuable experience gained from playing for several clubs in Ugandan football.
Lubega has previously featured for NEC FC, Catida FC, Express FC and UCU, experiences that have helped shape his development and prepare him for the next challenge with the Tax Collectors.
His arrival also adds another defensive option for Coach Jimmy Kintu as URA FC seeks to build a competitive squad capable of challenging for honours during the new season.

Speaking after completing his move, Lubega expressed his delight at joining URA FC and the opportunity to work under Coach Jimmy Kintu, while also appreciating the warm welcome he has received from his new teammates.
The defender believes the environment at the club will provide him with an opportunity to grow both as a player and as an individual.

Balancing Football and Education
Beyond the football pitch, Lubega has also invested in his education. The defender holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from Uganda Christian University (UCU).
His academic background adds another dimension to his profile as he begins his journey with URA FC, with the defender determined to combine his professional football ambitions with personal development.

Adding Depth to the Tax Collectors
Lubega joins a growing list of new arrivals at URA FC during the current transfer window as the club continues to assemble a squad capable of competing strongly across the season.
He joins fellow new recruits Muhammad Kyeyune, Elvis Ssekajugo, Marvin Nyanzi, Marvin Praise Wambuga, Eric Okutu and returning defender Mikidad Ssenyonga among the club’s additions during the window.
