Competition: Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League
Match: URA Ladies FC vs She Corporate FC
Matchday: Six
Venue: Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo
Kick-off: 4:00 PM
URA Ladies FC return to Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League action this evening with a challenging encounter against last season’s runners-up She Corporate FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, as the Women Tax Collectors seek to build on their recent victory and strengthen their position on the league table.
The Matchday Six fixture presents an opportunity for the Tax Collectors to register consecutive victories after their hard-fought 1-0 triumph over Rines SS WFC in their previous outing. Shamusa Najjuma proved decisive on that occasion, finding the back of the net with a late strike to secure all three points for the hosts.
URA Ladies head into the contest with renewed confidence following that victory and will be eager to maintain their momentum against an experienced She Corporate side that finished second in last season’s campaign.
The Women Tax Collectors did not feature on Matchday Five after their scheduled opponents, Kawempe Muslim Women FC, travelled to Egypt to represent Uganda in the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The fixture was consequently postponed, with a new date expected to be communicated upon Kawempe’s return.
Meanwhile, She Corporate FC come into this encounter following a 1-1 draw against Amus College in their Matchday Five fixture played at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, last weekend.
Namazzi: We Are Ready for the Challenge
Versatile URA Ladies FC player Vanessa Namazzi has expressed confidence in the team’s preparations, crediting the technical team for the work done ahead of the much-anticipated encounter.
Namazzi believes the players have received the necessary guidance and preparation to approach the game with confidence, discipline and determination.
“We are ready for the game. The technical team has done a great job preparing us, guiding us through the sessions and making sure we understand what is expected of us. We have worked hard in training, and everyone is looking forward to this challenge,” Namazzi said.
Despite acknowledging the quality and experience of their opponents, who finished as runners-up last season, Namazzi insists that She Corporate’s reputation will not intimidate the Women Tax Collectors.
She has challenged her teammates to believe in their abilities, remain united and fight for every opportunity throughout the contest.
“She Corporate are a good team, and we respect them because they finished second last season. However, that does not scare us. We also have a good team, and we believe in what we can achieve. We must go into the game with confidence, fight for each other and give everything until the final whistle,” she added.
A Crucial Opportunity on the League Table
The encounter also carries significant importance for both sides as they seek to improve their positions in the early stages of the campaign.
URA Ladies currently occupy a position with six points from four matches, while She Corporate have accumulated eight points from six outings.
A victory for the home side would take URA Ladies to nine points and provide an important boost to their campaign, while also narrowing the gap between themselves and their opponents.
With the home advantage and the motivation of extending their winning momentum, the Women Tax Collectors will be determined to make their return to league action count.
However, She Corporate’s experience and ambitions will provide a stern examination for the hosts, making this an encounter that demands concentration, tactical discipline and clinical finishing.
For URA Ladies, the mission is clear: turn their preparations into a positive performance, fight as one team and ensure the three points remain at Hamz Stadium.
