James Penza Begisa is a Ugandan professional footballer who plays as a right back for URA FC in the Uganda Premier League. He is an established member of the Tax Collectors’ defensive unit and currently wears the No. 2 shirt.

Begisa began his senior football career with Proline FC, featuring for the club during the 2019/20 season. He later joined UPDF FC, where he continued his development and gained further Uganda Premier League experience before moving to URA FC in 2022.

At URA FC, Begisa has developed into a regular first-team defender. During the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season, he made 25 league appearances, including 24 starts, and accumulated 1,955 minutes of playing time.

Begisa has also represented Uganda internationally. He featured for the Uganda U20 national team before progressing to the senior Uganda Cranes setup. He was part of Uganda’s squad at the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where CAF officially listed him as a URA FC defender wearing No. 2.

His continued performances at club level also earned him selection in Uganda’s provisional squad for CHAN 2024, further demonstrating his presence within the national-team setup.
