Highly promising youthful right-back Justin Opiro has renewed his contract at the club for an additional three years ensuring his stay at the club until 2027.
Opiro who joined URA FC in 2022 after catching the attention of the coaching staff then has steadily progressed and seen as a big prospect in the near future.
Opiro’s football journey began at Good Soccer Academy in Northern Uganda. He later moved to Bright Valley Primary School in Wagadugu where his talents were noticed leading him to Kibuli Secondary School.
His impressive leadership qualities saw him captain the KCCA junior team before transitioning to St Mary’s Kitende SS where he completed his Senior 6.
During his time at Kitende, Opiro played a key role in the school’s victories in both the prestigious Copa Coca Cola football championships and the East Africa football championship.
On the national stage, Opiro has represented Uganda in youth teams notably the Uganda Cubs (U17) and Uganda Hippos (U20) including participation in the 2023 AFCON U20 tournament in Egypt.
His defensive prowess has positioned him as one of the country’s most promising young talents.
