URA FC has achieved a monumental milestone, receiving international acclaim from FIFA for submitting one of the two winning strategic plan proposals under the prestigious FIFA Club Management and Professionalisation Programme.
The achievement was formally communicated to URA FC CEO Allan Munaaba in a letter from FIFA Senior Professional Football Manager and Development, Picalló Aguilar Marcos. The letter announced:
“We are pleased to announce the two winning submissions: ASEC Mimosas (Côte d’Ivoire) and URA FC (Uganda). We will be contacting the winning clubs shortly to coordinate their invitation to our upcoming Club Management Network Session in New York.”
URA FC’s recognition stems from their standout proposal during the 2024 FIFA Club Management and Professionalisation Programme held at Golden Tulip Hotel, Kampala.
The programme saw all Uganda Premier League clubs participate, with each required to submit a forward-looking strategic plan focused on an area of club growth. URA FC’s proposal, centered on sustainable talent development and professional structures, emerged as a global leader.
Their strategic blueprint impressed FIFA evaluators with its comprehensive vision, focusing on grassroots player development, life-after-football support and harmonizing financial, operational, and stakeholder objectives to build a balanced sport-business governance pyramid.
As a reward for their exceptional submission, URA FC will receive tailored support from FIFA to implement their plan and has earned an invitation to a high-level Club Management Network Session in New York, marking another leap for Ugandan football onto the global scene.
In response to the news, FUFA President Hon. Moses Magogo Hassim extended warm congratulations to the Tax Collectors via his official X (formerly Twitter) account:
“Congratulations, @URAFC_Official, for the massive achievement. I am very proud of you. This achievement is a testament to URA FC’s dedication and commitment to excellence. We are thrilled that they will represent Ugandan football on the global stage.”
URA FC CEO Allan Munaaba expressed heartfelt appreciation following the recognition:

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) also lauded the achievement, noting it as a proud moment not just for URA FC, but for the entire Ugandan football fraternity. It aligns with FUFA’s strategic objective of raising professional standards across Ugandan clubs and positioning them on a competitive global path.
