Q&A: URA FC’s New Striker Fred Amaku Speaks on His Move, Targets and Ambitions

URA FC Media Department caught up with newly signed striker, Fred Amaku, following his arrival from Kitara FC on a two-year contract. The prolific forward, known for his sharp instincts and consistency in front of goal, shared his thoughts on joining the Tax Collectors, his expectations, and his targets for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Q: Welcome to URA FC, Fred. How do you feel about joining the club?

Amaku: Thank you very much. I feel truly excited and honored to join URA FC. This is a club with great tradition, ambition, and a professional setup. For me, it’s a big step in my career, and I’m eager to get started, work hard, and contribute to the success of the team.

Q: What convinced you to make the move to URA FC?

Amaku: URA FC is a big club with a clear vision and ambition to compete at the very top. I had good conversations with the technical team and management, and I felt this was the right environment for me to grow further as a player. The team is building something strong, and I wanted to be part of that journey.

Q: How has the reception been since you joined the squad?

Amaku: The reception has been amazing. The coaches, players, and staff have all made me feel at home right away. It’s a very professional environment, and I’m already enjoying training with my new teammates. I believe that unity and good chemistry will help us achieve big things this season.

Q: You are coming in with a reputation as a consistent goal scorer in the Uganda Premier League. What are your personal targets at URA FC?
Amaku: My target is simple – score goals, help the team win matches, and deliver big performances when it matters most. Personally, I want to hit double figures in goals this season, but more importantly, I want my contributions to translate into success for the club.
