URA FC head coach Hussein Mbalangu delivered a heartfelt end-of-season message to his players after the Tax Collectors wrapped up the 2025/26 StarTimes Uganda Premier League campaign with a commanding 3-0 victory over Buhimba United Saints at Royals Park Arena.
The result marked URA FC’s first away win of the season and offered the club a positive finish after a difficult campaign that saw the Tax Collectors struggle for consistency.
Godfrey Ssekibengo opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Joseph Ssemujju doubled the lead five minutes later to put URA in firm control. Ssemujju later completed his brace in stoppage time to seal an emphatic victory for the visitors.
Following the final whistle, Mbalangu praised the players for remaining united and disciplined throughout a challenging season while urging them to maintain the same spirit going forward.
“I want to thank the players for the cooperation, discipline and commitment they have shown throughout the season. It has not been easy, but they stayed together and kept fighting for the club,” Mbalangu said.
The tactician also encouraged his squad to take time off and enjoy the holidays responsibly with their families while staying focused on maintaining fitness ahead of next season.
“The players should now go and rest with their families and enjoy responsibly because they deserve the break. But even during the holidays, they should continue working out slowly from home so that they keep fit and remain ready for next season.”
Despite the convincing finale, Mbalangu admitted the season fell below the club’s expectations and challenged each player to personally evaluate their performances.
“Every player should reflect on his individual performance this season and look at areas where he can improve. We know we did not meet the standards expected at URA FC, so we must return stronger and better next season.”
Mbalangu also extended appreciation to the club management for standing with the team during difficult moments across the campaign.
“I also thank the management for the support, patience and belief throughout the season. Their support kept us going even in tough moments.”
URA FC conclude the season in 11th position with 31 points, while Buhimba United Saints finish bottom of the table with 12 points and are relegated from the top flight.
