Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) is delighted to announce the signing of talented winger Alex Yiga on a two-year contract following his departure from KCCA FC.
The promising attacker completed his move to the Tax Collectors on deadline day of the recently concluded transfer window, becoming the latest addition to Head Coach Jimmy Kintu Mwera’s squad for the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League campaign.
Yiga arrives at URA FC with a reputation as an exciting young attacking player capable of operating from the wings and in advanced midfield positions.
His arrival is expected to provide Coach Kintu with another attacking option as the Tax Collectors continue to strengthen their squad for the season.
A Promising Young Attacker
Yiga developed through the KCCA FC Soccer Academy and was promoted to the club’s senior team ahead of the 2023/24 season.
KCCA described him at the time as an attacking midfielder with strong dribbling ability, pace, vision and the ability to use both feet effectively.
The winger had also been part of KCCA’s junior side that won the 2022 Cambiasso International Tournament in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. On the international scene, he represented the Uganda Cubs at the 2022 CECAFA U-17 Championship in Ethiopia, where Uganda secured a bronze medal.
Yiga has continued to gain senior-level experience in the Uganda Premier League, including during the 2025/26 campaign. He made 16 league appearances and also scored against Onduparaka in the Uganda Cup, according to reports from his former club.
His ability to play on either flank, combined with his pace, close control and willingness to take on defenders, gives URA FC an additional dimension in attack.
Yiga Delighted With URA FC Move
Speaking after completing his transfer, Yiga expressed his delight at joining the Tax Collectors and said he is ready to work hard to continue improving his game.
The young attacker also outlined his determination to make a positive contribution to the team and help URA FC achieve its objectives during the 2026/27 season.
“I am very happy to join URA FC and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of this great club. I am ready to work hard, learn and continue improving as a player.”
He added:
“I know the club has important targets this season, and I want to play my part in helping the team achieve them. I will give my best in training and whenever I get the opportunity to represent URA FC.”
More Options for Coach Kintu
Yiga’s arrival further strengthens the attacking department of Coach Jimmy Kintu’s team.
Primarily an attacking midfielder, he can also operate from either wing, providing the Tax Collectors with additional flexibility in the final third.
KCCA’s profile of the player highlighted his ability to attack from both central and wide areas, while current player-profile data also lists him as capable of playing on the left and right wings.
His pace, ball-carrying ability and creativity could offer URA FC another option when looking to stretch opposition defences and create opportunities from wide positions.
Yiga joins a growing group of new additions as URA FC continues to assemble a competitive squad under Coach Kintu. The Tax Collectors have already added several players during the transfer window as they target a strong 2026/27 campaign.
