URA FC vs KCCA FC
Competition: StarTimes Uganda Premier League
Matchday: Four
Date: Friday, October 9, 2026
Venue: Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo
Occasion: Uganda’s Independence Day
The Tax Collectors return to StarTimes Uganda Premier League action on Friday, October 9, 2026, with a high-stakes Authority Derby against KCCA FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, as they seek to bounce back from consecutive defeats.
URA FC will be eager to mark Uganda’s Independence Day with a positive result when they host city rivals KCCA FC under the floodlights in one of the standout fixtures of Matchday five of the 2026/27 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.
The Tax Collectors head into the encounter determined to get their campaign back on track after suffering successive defeats to SC Villa and NEC FC.
Having started the season with a 2-1 victory over Maroons FC, URA will be looking to rediscover their winning touch and register their second league victory of the campaign.
With the international break providing an opportunity to reflect, regroup and work on areas that needed improvement, head coach Jimmy Mwera Kintu is optimistic that his side has made the necessary adjustments ahead of the eagerly anticipated derby.
Kintu: We Are Ready for the Challenge
The two-week international break offered the technical team valuable time to assess the team’s performances, address costly mistakes and sharpen the squad ahead of the league’s return.
Kintu believes the lessons drawn from the defeats have strengthened the team’s resolve and insists that his players are prepared to respond positively against their city rivals.

“The international break gave us a good opportunity to review our previous performances and correct the mistakes that cost us points in our last two matches. We have worked hard on the training ground, and the players understand what is expected of them. We know the importance of this derby, especially on Independence Day, and we are ready to give our best, fight together and work towards getting a positive result for our supporters,” Kintu said.
Team News: Kisirikko Returns
URA FC have received a timely boost ahead of the derby with forward Denis Kisirikko returning to contention after his absence.
However, the Tax Collectors will be without Ronald Otti, Marvin Wambuga and Sharif Lubega, who are ruled out of Friday’s encounter.
Despite the absentees, the technical team will be counting on the available players to deliver a disciplined and determined performance against a KCCA side that will equally be eager to claim bragging rights.
Previous Meetings: Memories of a Comeback
The recent history between the two sides provides an intriguing backdrop to Friday’s contest, with their encounters at Hamz Stadium producing contrasting outcomes.
In last season’s league meeting at the same venue, URA FC and KCCA FC played out a goalless draw, with neither side able to find a breakthrough.
However, their Stanbic Uganda Cup encounter offered a different story. The Tax Collectors produced a spirited comeback after falling two goals behind to eliminate KCCA FC, demonstrating the resilience and fighting spirit that could prove crucial once again.

That cup triumph will serve as a reminder of URA’s ability to rise to the occasion against their city rivals, although Friday’s league assignment presents a fresh challenge for both teams.
A Chance to Make Independence Day Count
Beyond the points at stake, the Authority Derby offers URA FC an opportunity to give their supporters something to celebrate on Uganda’s 64th Independence Day.
Playing under the floodlights at Hamz Stadium, the Tax Collectors will be aiming to combine tactical discipline, attacking intent and collective determination to overcome their opponents and get their campaign moving in the right direction.
Having collected three points from their opening victory against Maroons FC, URA know that a positive result against KCCA would provide an important lift as the season gathers momentum.
For Kintu and his charges, the objective is clear: put the recent setbacks behind them, turn the lessons from the international break into a strong performance and make the Authority Derby a memorable Independence Day occasion.
