The Tax Collectors head into the encounter riding a wave of renewed confidence following back-to-back 1-0 victories over UPDF FC and title contenders Vipers SC, results that have provided a timely boost to their campaign.

Having registered an impressive start to his tenure with two successive wins, Ssimbwa will be looking to maintain the momentum as URA seek to collect another important three points away from home.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Ssimbwa emphasised the significance of extending their winning run, while acknowledging the challenge that awaits his team in Bukedea.

“Winning three games in a row would be very important for us because it would give the players more confidence and strengthen our position in the league. We respect Kataka, especially playing them at their home ground, but we have prepared well and the boys understand what is expected of them. We are ready for the task ahead and will go out there to fight for maximum points,” Ssimbwa said.

Defender Marvin Praise Wambuga has also expressed his readiness to contribute whenever called upon, insisting that every opportunity to represent the club must be approached with commitment and determination.

The defender is eager to make the most of any opportunity handed to him as the Tax Collectors continue their push for consistency.

“Every player wants to be on the pitch and contribute to the team’s success. Personally, I am ready whenever the coach gives me the opportunity. If my name is on the team sheet, I will give everything, fight hard for the badge and help the team get the result we are looking for,” Wambuga noted.

Team News

URA FC will be without the services of John Innocent Kisolo and Disan Galiwango, who are both suspended after accumulating three yellow cards.

Defender Arthur Kiggundu is also unavailable after sustaining minor injuries in an accident.

Their absence presents an opportunity for other members of the squad to step up as the technical team looks to assemble a competitive side capable of maintaining the club’s recent winning momentum.

The Opposition

Kataka FC, who are competing in the top flight following their promotion, will be equally determined to turn around their fortunes in front of their home supporters.

The Bukedea-based side have collected just three points from their opening eight matches and currently occupy 17th position on the 18-team table.

Despite their challenging start, Kataka have shown glimpses of their potential, notably holding record champions SC Villa to a 1-1 draw earlier in the campaign.

Their attacking threat will require close attention from the URA backline, particularly forward Ali Sentamu, who has found the net four times in the league this season.

Currently sitting on 10 points from eight matches, URA will view Wednesday’s encounter as another opportunity to improve their league position, move further away from the relegation zone and build on the confidence generated by their recent victories.

With momentum on their side, the Tax Collectors will be hoping to leave Bukedea with another valuable three points and extend their winning streak to three matches.
