Long servant Saidi Kyeyune has left URA FC. This follows expiry of his three year contract, that he signed in 2021 when he rejoined the club after a short professional stint from Sudan side El Merrikh FC.

Joining The Tax Collectors from Maroons FC in 2011, Kyeyune has been an integral part of the team for over a decade. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in securing several trophies for the club, including the Uganda Cup and the Mapinduzi Cup. He also represented URA FC in the CAF Confederation Cup.

In the 2016, Kyeyune left URA FC for Proline FC but made a return to his former club later in 2017.

Following a remarkable campaign with the Uganda Cranes at the 2021 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Cameroon, Kyeyune signed with Sudanese giants El Merrikh FC. However, his stint in Sudan was brief, and he returned to URA FC the same year.

Last season, Kyeyune was honored with the captain’s armband and led the team to an 8th place finish.

His dedication and leadership have left an memorable mark on the club.

Recognizing his loyalty and contributions, URA FC has expressed interest in welcoming Kyeyune back in the future to serve as part of the support staff.

As Kyeyune embarks on a new chapter in his career, URA FC extends their heartfelt gratitude and best wishes for his future endeavors.
