URA FC vs UPDF FC – Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo | 7:00 PM
After a frustrating start to the 2025/26 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season that has seen them draw all four of their opening fixtures, URA FC return to action at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Wednesday evening seeking their first victory of the campaign when they take on UPDF FC.
Alex Isabirye’s side has shared spoils with BUL FC, Express FC, NEC FC, and Lugazi FC, finding the back of the net only twice in those outings. The Tax Collectors have been solid defensively but will need their attacking line, led by captain Nelson Ssenkatuka, to find its rhythm if they are to convert performances into wins.
Speaking in his pre-match interview, head coach Alex Isabirye emphasized the importance of turning their consistency into results.
“We are coming out to see that we get three points and our first victory. We’ve not yet won any game but we are ready for UPDF, which we know is not going to be an easy game. To us now, every game is a final and we are going to do everything to see that we get maximum points,” Isabirye stated.
URA will, however, be without right back James Begisa and defender Ronald Otti, who are both recovering from injuries, while forward Denis Kisiriko and midfielder Godfrey Sekibengo remain unavailable due to school commitments.
Their visitors, UPDF FC, have had a mixed start—winning once, losing once, and drawing once in their opening three fixtures. The two sides are separated by just one point, with URA sitting 8th on four points, while UPDF are 12th with three.
