URA FC head coach Hussein Mbalangu has issued a strong rallying call to his players ahead of today’s Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 32 clash against Blacks Power FC, urging them to approach the contest with intensity and total focus from the opening minute.
Speaking ahead of the Wednesday showdown at Hamz Stadium, Mbalangu warned against any hint of complacency in a competition renowned for springing surprises.
“This is a cup game, and cup games don’t respect form or league status,” Mbalangu said. “Blacks Power are top of the Big League for a reason. They have experienced players and some very good individuals who can punish you if you relax even for a moment.”
The URA FC tactician drew on personal experience to underline the threat posed by their opponents, reminding his squad of a recent lesson that still stings.
“I know this opponent very well. Last season, at this very stage, Blacks Power eliminated NEC FC, a team I was coaching, and they did it convincingly,” he added. “That alone should tell my players everything. We must fight from the first whistle to the last.”
With a place in the next round at stake, Mbalangu confirmed that URA FC will approach the tie with maximum seriousness and minimal experimentation in selection.
“We are not taking chances,” he stressed. “Apart from roving right back James Begisa and goalkeeper Abdul Magada who picked up knocks, the rest of the squad is available. The captain, Moses Aliro, is back from injury and ready to lead as well as defender Bright Vuni”
URA FC progressed to the Round of 32 after grinding out a 1–0 away victory over Patongo United FC, while Blacks Power FC booked their spot with a commanding win against Bumate United FC, setting the stage for an intriguing cup encounter in Nakivubo.
