URA Ladies FC head coach Moses Nkata has confirmed the club’s leadership structure for the 2026/27 season.
New signing and experienced forward/midfielder Zaina Namuleme has been appointed as the new captain.
Namuleme, popularly known as “Zana,” takes over the armband from Tracy Nabalanzi, who served as the Women Tax Collectors’ captain since the club’s establishment in the 2024/25 season.
The new captain brings a wealth of experience to the leadership group as URA Ladies embark on their maiden campaign in the FUFA Women Super League (FWSL) following promotion from the FUFA Women Elite League.
Nabalanzi will remain an important figure within the leadership group after being appointed first assistant captain, while another new signing, experienced midfielder Lydia Nandyera, has been named second assistant captain.
Last season’s FWEL Most Valuable Player Vanessa Namazzi completes the leadership quartet as the third assistant captain.
The new hierarchy brings together experience, continuity and emerging leadership as the Women Tax Collectors establish themselves in Uganda’s top-flight women’s football.
URA Ladies opened their maiden FWSL campaign last Sunday with a 3-0 defeat to KCCA Women FC, but the team will have an immediate opportunity to respond when they return to action this weekend.
The Women Tax Collectors host Makerere University WFC on Saturday, 26 September, at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, with the team looking to bounce back and collect their first points of the campaign.
With Namuleme now entrusted with the captain’s armband and a strong leadership group supporting her, the Women Tax Collectors will look to turn the page and build momentum in their historic first season among Uganda’s top-flight clubs.
