URA Ladies FC have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026/27 FUFA Women Super League season with the signing of Crested Cranes star Zaina Namuleme.

The gifted and experienced player joins the Women Tax Collectors from Rwandan Women’s Premier League side Rayon Sport Women FC, putting pen to paper on a two-year contract.

Namuleme becomes the latest addition to a URA Ladies side preparing for its maiden campaign in the FUFA Women Super League following an impressive 2025/26 season in which the club secured promotion to the top flight.

Her arrival adds experience, quality and international pedigree to the squad as the technical team continue to assemble a competitive group capable of meeting the club’s targets at the highest level.

A recognised figure within the Uganda national women’s setup, Namuleme brings valuable experience from both domestic and international football. Her spell in Rwanda has further exposed her to a competitive environment and provided an opportunity to continue developing her game beyond Uganda.

Speaking after completing her move, Namuleme expressed her excitement about joining URA Ladies FC and taking on the challenge of competing in the Women’s Super League.

“I am very happy to join URA Ladies FC and excited about this new chapter in my career. I have joined a club with big ambitions, and I am ready to play my part in helping the team achieve its targets.”

The Crested Cranes star also outlined her personal ambitions, insisting that her move to URA is not only about contributing to the team’s success but also creating an environment in which she can continue to improve as a player.

“I want to give my best every time I step on the pitch, help the team compete at the highest level and, at the same time, push myself to greater heights. I believe that when you challenge yourself to become better, the team also benefits. My focus is to work hard, learn, compete and grow together with the club.”

Namuleme joins Shamusa Najjumah and Patience Nabulobi among the new faces brought in by URA Ladies FC during the ongoing preparations for the new campaign.

Najjumah, who joined from KCCA Women FC, was the club’s first signing ahead of the new season, followed by Nabulobi, also from KCCA Women FC.

The addition of Namuleme further underlines URA Ladies’ ambition to build a squad capable of competing strongly on their top-flight debut.

The Women Tax Collectors earned promotion after an unbeaten 2025/26 FUFA Women Elite League campaign, culminating in a 1-0 playoff final victory over Jinja United at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, with Belinda Hope Nabawanuka scoring the decisive goal.

The club will now turn its attention to the challenge of the FUFA Women Super League, where URA Ladies FC are scheduled to open their 2026/27 campaign against KCCA Women FC on 20 September 2026.

With the experience of Namuleme added to an already promising squad, the Women Tax Collectors are entering the new chapter with clear ambitions.
