URA Ladies FC 1-0 UPDF Women FC
URA Ladies FC sealed a historic promotion to the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over UPDF Women FC on Saturday evening at Kawempe Muslim Grounds.
The defining moment of the contest came through forward Cynthia Kirenga, whose solitary strike secured all three points and confirmed the Tax Collectors’ place among Uganda’s elite women’s football clubs for the 2026/27 season.
Fresh from helping the Uganda U17 Women’s National Team, the Teen Cranes, win the 2026 CECAFA U17 Women’s Championship in Tanzania, Kirenga once again proved decisive on the big stage. Her goal not only maintained URA Ladies FC’s unbeaten run but also delivered one of the most important victories in the club’s history.

The result lifts URA Ladies FC to 38 points at the summit of the Elizabeth Group standings, five points ahead of second-placed Boni Consili with only one match remaining.
That advantage means the Tax Collectors can no longer be caught, mathematically confirming their promotion to the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League.
URA Ladies FC have enjoyed a remarkable campaign, winning 12 of their 14 matches and drawing the other two. The side remains unbeaten and is now within touching distance of completing the league season without tasting defeat.
Defender Racheal Nanyonga was named Woman of the match after full time.

Attention now shifts to the final group fixture away to FC Tooro Queens in Fort Portal, where the Tax Collectors will look to cap off an outstanding league campaign in style.
Thereafter, URA Ladies FC are expected to face Jinja United WFC, the leaders of the Victoria Group, in the FUFA Women Elite League Championship Final, a contest that will determine the overall winner of the 2026 FUFA Women Elite League.
Having secured promotion, the focus now turns to finishing the season strongly and adding the league championship crown to what has already been a memorable campaign for the club.
