URA Ladies FC brought their 2025/26 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Elite League regular-season campaign to a successful close with a hard-fought 1–0 away victory over FC Tooro Queens at the King Oyo Sports Complex in Fort Portal.
The fixture was URA Ladies’ final Elizabeth Group match, coming just a week after the Tax Collectors defeated UPDF Women FC 1–0 to mathematically secure promotion to the FUFA Women Super League.
Tax Collectors Finish the Job in Fort Portal
With promotion already secured, URA Ladies travelled to Fort Portal determined to maintain the standards that had defined their season.
FC Tooro Queens provided a difficult challenge on their home ground, forcing URA to remain patient and disciplined throughout the contest. The Tax Collectors, however, found the decisive breakthrough and protected their narrow advantage to secure another valuable three points.
The 1–0 result ensured URA Ladies finished their Elizabeth Group campaign without suffering a defeat.
Another Clean Sheet
Beyond collecting maximum points, the result once again demonstrated the defensive strength that had been central to URA Ladies’ successful campaign.
Keeping FC Tooro Queens scoreless away from home reflected the team’s organisation, concentration and ability to manage tight matches—qualities that had also been evident in the previous 1–0 victory over UPDF Women FC.
From Promotion to the Championship Final
URA had already confirmed top spot in the Elizabeth Group before travelling to Fort Portal. Following the victory over UPDF, they stood on 38 points with one match remaining, five clear of second-placed Boni Consili Girls and therefore beyond reach.
The Tooro Queens fixture was scheduled as the club’s final regular-season match on 4 July 2026 at King Oyo Sports Complex.
By closing the campaign with another victory, URA Ladies carried valuable momentum into the FUFA Women Elite League championship playoff, where they would face Victoria Group winners Jinja United WFC.
A Season to Remember
The victory in Fort Portal was another important chapter in an outstanding season for URA Ladies FC.
From their opening-day 1–0 away victory against She Kasese to their final regular-season win over FC Tooro Queens, the Tax Collectors demonstrated remarkable consistency throughout the campaign.
They had achieved their first major objective—promotion to the FUFA Women Super League. The next challenge was to turn an unbeaten regular season into silverware.
And one week later, URA Ladies would do exactly that, defeating Jinja United WFC 1–0 to become 2025/26 FUFA Women Elite League champions.
